Mansie and Lily are stuck indoors because of the rain - it is torrential! Some of you may have met Mansie back in August 2013 when I introduced him to 365. These guys are Shetland Teddy Bears, made from fair-isle wool. Peerie Lily (Little Lily) and Mansie O'Easthoose (Mansie of Easthouse). They are handmade in the Shetland Isles. On their labels are the words 'Tak me hame wi' thee' (Take me home with you) - how could I resist! I bought Peerie Lily for my mum (a Shetlander), many years ago, as her mother was called Lily. Mum loved Peerie Lily so much that she bought Mansie for me! I now have them both and they are very dear to me.
They are beautiful! I am a collector of teddy bears, although it has been a while since we acquired a new one. I don't think I would have been able to resist these guys though had I come across them.
How precious. What it is about material shaped into the form of a bear and given eyes and a smile that make us want to hug them?! The rain-spattered window made a pretty backdrop for this picture.
I couldn't love more the beauty and adorableness of these two !!! I nearly feel the need of visiting the Shetland Isles if only to bring one home with me! Thank you for sharing them...they're the sweetest!
