When we lived in Pau, in the SW of France, we were big supporters of La Section Paloise, the rugby team from the area. At the time, they played in the ProD2 division, and we went to all of their home matches and some of the aways. They were recently promoted to the Top14 Division which means they will play against the top Paris teams (Stade Français and Racing Metro). We were very excited about their promotion, not least because it means we can go and see them play in Paris. Yesterday was the first match of the new season in Paris and La Section played against Stade Français. Sadly, they lost, but it was a great game.
Pink is the colour of the Stade Français team - the owner is a very colourful individual who wasn't afraid to choose pink (and occasionally flowers) for the team outfit (which shocked many). However the team is the best in France at the moment, so I guess the colour is irrelevant!
The Jean-Bouin stadium is in the 16th Arondissement of Paris. It is the home stadium of Stade Français, and is named after the athlete Jean Bouin, the 5000 metre silver medalist from 1912 Olympics.
The pink definitely caught my eye right off. Interesting about the owner of the team being a "colorful" individual. !! Is that a large Connect-Four game the kids are playing just off-center to the right? Fun game.
