Mullardoch Four by jamibann

Mullardoch Four

Here we are, arriving at the foot of the hills we were about to climb on Thursday. The boat was perfectly designed for getting out at the back without getting wet feet. We headed off up the glen to the left of this image, and our hills are the ones lightly covered in snow in the background.
Arriving by boat, what an adventure! Looks pretty wintry up there still.

Oh Issi you and John are just amazing! Lovely composition and capture of both the boat and the hills which look like mountains to me! It looks like quite a long and uncomfortable trek. Wishing you good luck and may the weather be kind to you as well xx

@ludwigsdiana It was a long trek, Diana, with a significant amount of elevation, but not as long as it would have been without the boat!!! We were very grateful. :-)

@tinley23 The weather came and went. We had a perfect three hours in the morning, but I worried about visibility for the rest of the walk! We could see dark foreboding, snow-filled showers all around, and our forthcoming mountains came and went in the low cloud. But overall, we were lucky and had good visibility when we needed it for navigation. Thank you Mother Nature!

Great view of the mountains from the deck of a transport barge. I like how the light touches the mountain peaks, inviting you to climb.

Your commitment to this goal is so admirable! And the beauty you have seen because of it is amazing. Those munros look like they are days away- I can't believe how quickly you get to them. Great shot!

Gorgeous, what an exciting place to climb!
April 28th, 2024
Wonderful shot. You must use a compass when the fog or snow limits the visibility?

What an amazing view. And great story capture. Love to read about your adventures. Thank you

@illinilass Oh, absolutely! We have phones as back up, but never rely on them as there are too many things that can go wrong - lack of signal, battery failure, etc. We use map and compass first and check the result with the phone!
