I met my husband after work last night, and we went to the cinema to see 'Everest'. This is taken from the bottom of the steps, looking up towards the cinema entrance, Le Dome.
The film was excellent, although very sad. I did have to keep reminding myself though that these people chose to scale the mountain, and that those who died, died doing what they loved. Fatal mistakes, as always in these types of incidents, were made. Tragic for the people left behind though.
beautifully structured image..........As for the mountaineers, it must be much better to die doing something you love than merely existing to a ripe old age.
All the coats indicate you're having cool weather. I can't seem to get an honest week of fall temps. Today was 80 again. Ugh. That's a long ways from the temps it was up on Everest. I read the book "Into Thin Air" years ago so already know how sad the movie is going to be, but like you said, these people were doing what they wanted to be doing...
Oh, I was going to say something about the "Hedgeballs". First, thanks for the enthusiastic compliments on the pic. As for eating it, yes, the seeds are edible but it sounds like they're more work to get to than is worth it. Here's one of the articles I looked up on the subject. There are pics towards the end that show the process of trying to harvest the seeds. https://www.baltimorebrew.com/2012/11/12/a-gnarly-challenge-for-the-forager-osage-orange-seed-balls/
That is one impressive looking cinema. I like the stairs (of course) and they work so well as leading line. I've not decided if I can see the movie -- I had a really hard time finishing the book. So very tragic.
