One of the things I love about living in France is the bread. This is a 'demie miche' which I buy on a Sunday at the local market. It usually lasts us the whole week. We eat it fresh on Sunday, and then I slice what is left and freeze it.
The name is linked to the size of the bread (huge, hence we buy only a half) ~ a 'miche' being listed as being 'bread weighing a pound or more'. In French slang, a 'miche' can also be a woman's breast or buttock!
Nothing nicer than fresh bread. There's someone in our village who makes bread on a weekend and I buy from them, also slicing and freezing the loaf. Means that you have great toast for the week.
