Remembrance Sunday by jamibann

Remembrance Sunday

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Laurence Binyon
So poignant!

The Poppy will always represent a sense of remembrance. Nicely presented for the occasion.

@kwind The memorial service in the UK is always on the Sunday before. In France it has been made a public holiday and the commemoration services are therefore on the 11th. For some reason I always remember the UK date - probably because my dad always carries the standard during the parade - even at 82 years of age. He is considering handing over to someone younger soon though.
