There are four public holidays in May in France this year (1, 8, 10 and 21). Combined with rail strikes and Air France strikes, it is making for an interesting month.
However, the up-side is that we have more free time and so I dragged hubby (and I do mean dragged) to the Musée d'Orsay with me yesterday to visit the current exhibition of art from the Baltic Countries. I loved it. He thought it was sombre and austere and didn't love it. ;-) However, he did love the building (which is why I chose this one for him to visit). It was a beautiful day and the views from the clock face overlooking the Sacré Cœur were wonderful. Of course it was impossible to get the perfect shot as there were too many people around, but I rather liked this one - even with the photographer's silhouette in the foreground.
I'm always happy to catch a photographer shooting the scene I was looking for because her's will be "everyday" and your's will be forever "different"! I love seeing this wonderful view!
It's my favourite museum in Paris! Adore this building, the natural light, the sculptures and, of course, the iconic clock. Love this. I keep hearing about the striking chaos on the news. Crazy month there!
@casablanca It is crazy at the moment. Between Air France and SNCF there's hardly a day without a strike. However, I'm lucky - I can walk almost everywhere! And I do!
@jamibann Very wise! I do the same in London as much as possible. When I was 17 and going for university interviews, we had tube strikes so I had to walk for over an hour across London to get the mainline station at Euston. At least I knew the roads on foot already!
