Le Palais Beaumont

Well, we both survived another emotional retirement party - this time with John's former drilling colleagues in Pau. It was a lovely occasion, and very well worth the effort.

I went for a wander around the town, a real trip down memory lane for me, as we lived here between 2009 and 2014. This is an image of the conference centre, known as the Palais Beaumont, built in 1878, and situated very near where we used to live.

Lovely architecture and b&w processing. My hubby slipped away quietly after working in his place of work for over 43 years, he hates fuss!! His workmates kept it low key and he went out for a beer and that was it!!
