The mulch is in! by jamibann

The mulch is in!

So, yesterday we pretty much spent the whole day moving this 3-ton pile of mulch to the various spots in the garden where it was required. As you can see, we've put down matting to try and prevent weeds coming up through the mulch. It's all looking good today!
Goodness.....that is a big job.......good job you're fit. We put matting down several years ago with stones on top. It works reasonably well......although when you cut through the mat to plant plants.....those pesky weeds seize the opportunity to grow through pretty damn quick !

Well you certainly have your work cut out for you!! Hopefully the matting will do it’s job so you don’t have too much weeding!

what did you do in your spare time.

@cutekitty Yes, we need to put in a few shrubs, so will have to cut some holes ... That will be a Spring time job though up here - snow forecast next week seemingly!

@vignouse Yes, we weren't sure how that would work nor what size of lorry would turn up. But the guy was great and did the job with no damage to anything and no mulch on the gravel. Result!

@happypat I will do, although there are shrubs to be planted next - but I think that will have to wait for Spring.

I admire you for doing this yourself. I am not a gardener.
