We're getting a wood burning stove installed this week and are patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for the gas man to come and disconnect the existing gas fire. They finally phoned and said they'd not be before 4 pm, so we took advantage to go for a walk around Craigendarroch (Hill of the Oaks), just behind our house. The walking poles are really necessary at this time of year - the dead leaves hide the slippy roots underneath. I managed to fall, even with my poles! No harm done though.
I can remember a song from WWAAYYY back about the gas-man coming to call.....(Flanders and Swann I believe).....hope all fixed now .......did taking this pic make you fall !!!
@cutekitty I'm having to get inventive with POVs now ... no more exciting trips planned for a while, so I'm now going to have to find things at home. Scratching of the head ...
someone's going to be real warm.... we went to opposite way from wood burning stove to gas fireplace. Originally our house was electric heat but we were able to convert to gas when new houses where built years later. No longer needed the wood stove since gas heat is so much warmer, gave it to our nephew. Wonderful POV of walking in a fall wonderland.
Glad you weren't hurt! Or you may have had to join me on the carpet with the painkillers doing the Physio excercises!! Fantastic pov, this really works well.
That's beautiful and good to get out whatever the weather.
I'm sure you'll enjoy the log fire when it's in place. I love the enveloping warmth when visiting friends who have one. Nowhere suitable in our current house.
