Bad start to today's walk as I realised half way around that I had no memory card in my camera - I knew exactly where it was, not that that helped much - in the back of the computer! Ah well, onwards and upwards, and out with the iPhone. This is Knock Castle, a ruined 4-storey tower house, dating back to 1600 and a place we used to play as kids. I like the way it sits on the hill, surrounded by larch trees.
This would appear to be the setting for some long-ago story of those who lived in that castle! And as for forgetting the memory card, you are not alone, as Ron @stray_shooter likes to remind me! When I remove the card, I now leave the little flap open so that I feel it when I pick up my camera to leave!
I'm so glad I just wifi my images to my computer - I have got on the bike with no battery in it, but now I leave the camera upside down while the battery is charging to help me remember :)
My word this is a very atmospheric photo. Love the way it’s guarded by that row of trees either side....slightly spooky but that’s what castles should be! Thank goodness for iPhones & it’s done you proud!
@Weezilou You know what? I do that too, but even though the flap was open, I was nonetheless strolling about happily with it open, not realising until I went to switch the position of my camera around my neck and put my hand on the flap! At least I discovered before I was ready to capture something really exciting! So, back the camera went into the rucksack, and the phone came to the fore. Thank goodness for it!
@koalagardens Yes, we all need little tricks to help. I usually try to carry a spare battery on walks - but maybe now I need to take a spare memory card too ... just in case!
