We have been participating in the Braemar Mountain Festival over the past 3 days. This photo was taken on Friday overlooking Corrie Kander near the summit of the Munro Carn An Tuirc. We had a great day out with our guide, despite the lack of snow for practising use of ice axe and crampons! Here Gary is explaining the dangers, in winter, of approaching the edges of these gullies as the cornice of snow can suddenly break off and take you with it! We thought we carried lots of stuff in our rucksacks in winter, but now we know that we don’t have the half of it! We need much more. I feel an hour or so in the Mountain Shop coming up!
