One Pigeon Less

I had my image all ready to post this morning as we had been at Balmoral with our visitors yesterday and I had plenty of choice of photos. However, as I came into the kitchen at 6am, I spotted this fellow demolishing a pigeon at the back of our garden. So I ran to get my camera, zapped on the zoom lens, and having learned by experience, took a few shots from inside before I ventured out in the hope of more. Needless to say he sensed me immediately I got close, but the photos taken inside were reasonable. I think it's a buzzard, and it's the first time I've seen one in the garden.

Balmoral photos will follow over the next couple of days as I thought this one was worth the distraction!
