This 'baby' was also seen on our walk on Friday, just at the side of the path. He sat for ages beside this rock allowing me to take a picture of him. I learned, from google, that a hare is not born below ground in a burrow, but in a shallow depression called a form. They are also born fully furred with eyes open. I never knew that! Happy Sunday everyone.
Didn't know there was a "rabbit species" that was born with its eyes open. The kits around here are tiny, naked, and blind, and hugely defenseless. This one's expression is a hoot.
Such a perfectly clear capture of this young hare! Thank you for sharing the interesting facts on how they’re born. I learn something new every day. :-)
