Pigeon's Nest by jamibann

Pigeon's Nest

When 'browsing' a tree in our garden yesterday evening with my 'big' lens, looking for my squirrel friend, I found this. A pigeon's nest, high above our heads and we'd never noticed it before. Zoom lenses are handy things!

I'm off to Dundee for the day now. Not somewhere I go very often, but it's a central place to meet with a couple of friends - one from Aberdeen and another from Pitscottie in Fife.
Looks v cosy. We found one in a tree in our garden. It fell down on Ray’s head, was quite heavy.....

Don't they have such lovely colors. I especially like the pinkish-purple hues of the chest. How their nests stay put is beyond my understanding.

And hey! - thanks for the comment shared on my 'museum' picture. Enjoyed reading it.

They puff up and look so comfortable.

They have such tiny eyes, vis à vis their size.

Always fun to watch a bird's nest.

So exotic sounding to be off to Dundee! Interesting to see what hatches here.

@quietpurplehaze Oh dear. That sounds quite nasty!

@taffy Dundee is, in my mind, probably the least exotic place I could imagine. However, I have to say, that it is on the up and up and has greatly improved over the years. Yesterday was lovely. The sun was shining, I had a pleasant drive down, a nice walk around the town, a visit of the V&A museum, lunch with friends, and then home. All in all, a successful day - with one or two photos on the way. What more could you ask for?!
