Well, we're getting there. We borrowed a cement mixer from our neighbours and have made good inroads into fixing the wall. Another day's work ahead though - it's a bit like making a massive jigsaw puzzle, trying to find the right stones for the appropriate gaps, and working very delicately so as not to destabilise what's still standing. This was taken yesterday morning, after we'd done an afternoon's work. We worked all day yesterday and hopefully will get it completed today. Although final pointing will need to be done at a later date. I am still amazed that only one side came crashing down and that it is still standing on our neighbours' side. Let's just hope that our fix will keep it standing for many more years.
Our garden wall collapsed a few years ago.....taking out our gas supply on the way! This was built in 1846 so had lasted a fair while.......however....we decided to get a builder to rebuild it!
