I think Tufty only loves me for my peanuts, but you know what, I don't care! I adore seeing this girl in the mornings. She's an infrequent visitor, but when she's around she's fairly insistent upon emptying the feeder and burying her stash everywhere in the garden. A joy to watch!
Squirrels are a species unknown in the Isle of Man...no snakes either, yet there are (some) cats without tails. The first squirrels I saw when I was at Swansea as a student. I was mesmerised, seeing them flinging themselves branch to branch, tree to tree. I see some here at Paimpont where there is an extensive forest, although access is all but forbidden since much of the Forest is now owned privately for hunting. A sad and bad evolution of a stunning natural treasure.
