We haven't done much mountain biking recently - don't really know why, but I lost interest, as my preference definitely became road biking. However, of late we've rediscovered our mountain bikes, and they do take us places we couldn't go on the road bikes. We did a 50km circuit this morning cycling up the valley of the Muick, crossing the hills, and passing close to Royal Lochnagar Distillery and Balmoral castle. We had a lovely lunch at a new wee cafe, Tarmachan, at Crathie and then returned home via a different route. A lovely moment spent together, and most appreciated given the renewed and stricter restrictions on our daily living. Thank goodness for the small things.
You two must be the fittest couple you know.....the perfect retirement doing what you love...perfectly suited to each other. You have got a great incentive with where you live though!
@sarah19 It's small, but serves some interesting and unusual food. Some outside seats too. We were very pleasantly surprised and will definitely go back!
You are so energetic, I love to read about your adventures! I am always more energetic when I am in beautiful surroundings, so clearly the trick is to live in Scotland! Lovely image
What a lovely scene. Thats a decent cycle on a mountain bike too! My brother and I have a stay booked for Skye the week after next. Due to being in local restrictions I'm gonna have to cancel. So disappointed!
@gamelee Sorry about that Lee - it's so disappointing to have things cancelled. I should have been on Harris for a week in September for a photography course which was cancelled. Hubby and I were fortunate to get to go to the Loch Lomond area for 4 days instead, which worked out really well. Flexibility is the name of the game at the moment - not good news for planners!
At least you are able to get out and about during your lockdown and not have city traffic to deal with.
