Hubby is on the local community council, and this is one of the recent projects - dressing dummies as policeman and women and using them to try and get cars to slow down. No idea if it actually works or not, but we had the responsibility of getting this ex-Debenhams girl, Twiggy, dressed and out there. Dad's wellies and shirt. Husband's trousers. Fancy dress police hat. My cycling vest. We have had her in our garage for a few weeks now, scaring the life out of us every time we walk in. So, now she's out working. One of the local residents came out and thanked us for putting her there as he has a terrible time getting in and out of his driveway as people speed down the straight, often overtaking and exceeding the speed limit of 60 mph. I-phone to the rescue as I took the camera with me, minus the memory card. Doh.
Well I hope Twiggy gives all your speeding motorists the shock of their lives! A bit of brake pressing there! She’s a very glam policewoman, the best styling she’s ever had & probably more covered up too!
Lovely idea, I had the same thought when I saw the picture someone might think she has perhaps being kidnapped and tied to the pole.
If anything it will slow people down for curiosity sake.
I hope it works- let me know and maybe I'll put one out in my front yard for the motorcyclists who think our street is a raceway. I'm glad to see she's strapped on there too. Someone else whose community had one of these had theirs stolen. Really?!!
This is brilliant!
I'm sure it will be effective. At Home Bargains stores they have life size cardboard cutout policeman and I always 'notice' him.
Same guy at Inverurie and Tain!!
