Today I had to run errands and stopped at the farmers market for fresh produce.
I asked this young busker if I could take some pics of him and he pointed to his money jar. I gave him some money and got his e-mail addy to send him some copies. I decided not to show his face on here. There was something about him I found very sad. He was pretty unkempt and I wondered if he was homeless. When I showed him the pics he said his hair looked terrible (it was not washed or combed but he had a lot and it was curly). I told him to focus on the positive things in the pic. This was his favorite showing just his arms and instrument.
When I left, he smiled at me.
I really like this Jan , it seems to say a lot even without his face. It works really well. I like also how you interacted with him and it sounds like you both had a positive encounter. Fav.
@maggiemae - he definitely had a delicate touch, Maggiemae and was quite good. My mother in law is a violinist - my son plays the saxophone - a great uncle was a composer - so music has always been important in our family and I do find it reassuring to see so many young people playing instruments. I wish I had musical talent - alas, I am tone deaf! @bristolrose - thanks Kathryn and for the fav. I do feel as if I connected with him. It was important. I watched him for a while and there was something about him that made me reach out. @taffy - thanks so much, Taffy - I am glad you like it - I may put up a couple more later as fillers. I took some from different angles.
Great angle for this shot, and the background makes it more interesting. My daughter plays the violin and I love listening. I never learned to play an instrument, although I tried to play the flute. I'm a better audience that performer.
I think I like it best without his face. It makes us focus on the action and the gracefulness of his hands! The light is fabulous too. I think I have to FAV it!
@jankoos I never sang quite on the note- I could hear myself and was embarrassed to sing! But after over a year singing with others in a ukelele group, I can hear myself be right on the note - gives me confidence to sing a bit louder!
