Poor Huckleberry! I woke him from a dead sleep (on the sofa in the family room) with the promise of a cookie - then clicked while he was waking up. I had to make good on the cookie! Despite his sour look, he is a sweet gentle guy - all 157lbs of him. He just turned seven and I am hoping he will be with us a long time.
@trudy12 - thanks Trudy! @luvmynynix - Thanks Laurie. He has his canine good citizen certification. We wanted to do 'Read with Rover' program with him, but the classes for the certification didn't work with my work schedule. He gets excited when he meets people, especially kids and the large wagging tail can be painful and is right at face level with little kids. When he goes to the Farmers Market though, he usually ends up with a crowd of kids giving him cookies and showing his tricks. He does all the 'usual' stuff - down, high five, 'speak', roll over.
Awww, what a cutie! Marcus (our library friend) is THE most mellow dog I have ever seen in my life! There is also a little Chihuahua mix that is equally as calm (which I think is out of the ordinary for that breed). A LOVES going to see them!
@mzzhope@trsers - thank you! @maggiemae - yes Maggiemae - their lives are too short - their only fault, really. We had a springer spaniel make it to 15 - and two of our cats made it to 18 and 20 but it's never enough!
I love his head!! He looks totally groggy and out of it, trying to figure out what you got him into, I suspect, or where and when the cookie will show up. What a cute dog! I love large cuddly dogs and he looks like one of those!
@taffy ...thanks Taffy...he is cuddly...more so than his 'sister' who prefers not to have hugs. He does have a mighty thick tail that can really sting your legs....poor guy.
