the audience by jantan

the audience

I walked around the perimeter of our land this morning to check the fences following yesterday's nightmare with the hunt rampaging through our fields - fortunately not too much damage.

At one point I looked up to discover that i had attracted an audience.

It was a bit of a surprise because 20 minutes earlier I had left them 200 yards away at the bottom of the hill eating their morning hay, and I assumed that they were still there.
What sweeties, they're making sure you're ok.

Oh how lovely, I feel like this is an advertising poster for some wonderful film about animals being clever and saving the world.. ok a bit strong, but you know the ones I mean??

Some of the best photos are the unplanned ones.
February 16th, 2012
Great surreal composition with the donkeys and that random goat!
February 16th, 2012
Haha - great moment!
February 16th, 2012
@jackiew Yes Jackie, that is Cashew the pygmy goat (although I am seriously beginning to think that he thinks he is a donkey)
February 16th, 2012
@jlhopgood Sort of Jo, I foster them for the Donkey Sanctuary (not the goats.... obviously.....)
February 16th, 2012
@islawight Yes it is a bit surreal isn't it. That is Cashew, I love the way in this shot his horns give him a similar outline to the donks. Did you spot his friend Cory (my nemesis) behind the fence post?
February 16th, 2012
@jantan - ah no I didn't - cunning camouflaged goat.
February 16th, 2012
i really like this... something about how they are all lined up, standing and facing and looking the same way... (ok - it's a bit spooky in a way - but it makes for a wonderful picture!)
February 17th, 2012
Wow. Great Picture.. There is even a goat..
February 17th, 2012
Great shot Jan, everything is good about this photo, even the sky is playing it's part.. You should have an exhibition of donkey photos...
