dreary drive

I've got to say, it's hard to keep up the enthusiasm for photography when it has rained almost constantly for a month. I think this photograph pretty much sums up my lack of enthusiasm. Just a quick ill-thought out shot with an iPhone taken simply to keep up my record of not using any fillers (so far!)

We spent the weekend with my in-laws in Doncaster.

Our eldest son was doing his backpacking weekend for his Duke of Edinburgh award. On Sunday morning we received a text to say that the weekend had had to be abandoned because the weather was so terrible (horizontal rain, hail, sleet and 55 mile an hour winds). So we had to jump in the car and head home (over two hours away) because he would now be returning earlier than the 4pm we were supposed to be picking him up from school. He finally got home at 6pm, with blisters the size of golf balls and a craving for chocolate and dry towels.

It has been announced that it has been the wettest April since records began. Thank goodness they put that hosepipe ban in place!

I'm so sick of the rain. Spring is springing and it's difficult to get out there and capture it :/

I know what you mean Jo, slippery old stuff isn't it? I think my ex-batts are about to put in a request to be sent back to the battery farm - at least it was dry there. @jlhopgood
