this is Cashew, one of our pygmy goats. He is quite a sweet little chap, unlike his friend Cory who bullies him (and me!) mercilessly. Fortunately Cashew can jump into the donkey's food trough (an old water tank) but Cory can't.
He is often to be found buried under the straw and hay looking for the choice bits of food and out of Cory's reach. The old donkeys just eat around him, but the young ones are a bit scared of him (and his horns) and so give him a wide berth.
There have been occasions when I have been mucking the stable out not knowing that Cashew is sleeping buried under the straw in the trough and I heard a rustling followed by the sight of a straw-covered head as he has emerged giving me a bit of a fright.
