finally had a bit of time to have a play with my new camera. So far I have discovered how to change the aperture, ISO, focusing method and that's about it! Soooo frustrating not having the time to sit down and go throught the instruction book in detail, but I guess I will get there eventually.
Shame it has been such a dull day, but for me it is so exciting to be able to take a hand-held high ISO shot that looks OK (unless you blow it up too much!!)
Extra choir practice for the altos tonight because we are so crap, still might not be all bad - I did hear mention of wine.....
The higher the ISO, the more sensitive the camera is to the available light, so in low light you can use a faster shutter speed (or smaller aperture) if you have a higher ISO, and vice versa. The drawback is the higher the ISO you have the more grainy the image will look. @maggiemae
Well done Jan & it will take you ages to get all into your head. I keep reading & forgetting & still get muddled about shutter speeds. Love this flower.
Lovely colours in this. I like the way you composed it too. I think you'll learn a lot just by having a go and you did a good job with this! I tried reading lots about manual settings but it sinks in more when I just experiment myself I think!
@roachling thanks Louise. I learned a lot about the settings etc and already use manual quite a lot on my old camera, it's more a case of learning how to change the settings on my camera - it's quite confusing!
