took Angus' engineering scholarship application form to Leamington first thing this morning. He's got to sit an aptitude test next month, then it's fingers crossed he gets an interview.
Then a quick trip to Sainsbury's - yawn... and to the pet shop to top up my wild bird food supplies in time for the RSPB's Big Garden Bird Watch tomorrow. I have never taken part before and am strangely and rather pathetically looking forward to it.
Graham was working from home today, so before he started he fed and watered the animals for me which was a welcome respite. The reason for him being at home was because he had to have a blood test because he suffers from gout. I have to say, until he started to suffer from it about a year ago I had always assumed that it was the affliction of cigar smoking, port swilling old men with purple noses, but it is amazing how many people, of all ages get it. Horrible thing, so painful.
This afternoon I took a quick stroll around the village on the pretext of delivering the long overdue Thank You cards for the presents I was given for my birthday, but really because I wanted to take some photographs. Unfortunately most of the snow is now at the grey compacted ice stage so my progress was very slow and the inspiration for photographs was a bit lacking. There were some amazing icicles on all of the thatched roofs. These ones are on the house that is opposite ours.
Best thing of the day - tidied out the cupboard under the stairs. That's a measure of how exciting it has been........
They look so pretty..... but alas I guess today they will now be gone... back to the mud and rain... (yuck!)
However it was so nice to see and feel the sun today and worth a bit of squelching around... the birds seemed very happy today so guess you will have a good turn out for your bird watch day ♥
