(looks better large if you want to see their tufty heads)
normal Monday morning tardiness today, then completely caught out by the hard frost which meant scraping the car and travelling carefully on roads that had had the salt washed off them by last night's torrential rain and were now like glass. Just about made the kids' buses in time.
Took a trip to Burton Dasset because I have been suffering from sheep-photographing withdrawal symptoms for a couple of weeks now. Nice light, and when I parked on the side of the road and got out of my car the sheep all stampeded towards me which was a bit of a bonus. Wish I had had my camera at the ready as it was quite a sight. It's amazing how close you can get to them if you proceed slowly and avoid eye contact.
Was extremely irritated by an inconsiderate woman who seemingly took a significant diversion to walk her three dogs between me and the sheep and so scattered them. She made no comment or eye contact even tho she walked within about 6 feet of me, and we were probably the only people around for at least a square mile. She didn't even say anything when one of her dogs, which I had studiously ignored, jumped up me covering me with mud. Oooh I was livid, and I let her know this by giving her a hard (and completely futile, given that she wasn't looking at me) stare and a loud tut! (Brave for me!!) .............That showed her............
Drove home thinking about all of the things I should have said.................
Three good things:-
Brave sheep
Lightroom 4 - beginning to L.O.V.E. it (thanks to @markyl for his patience with my mindless questions)
running water - outside taps weren't frozen up even tho there had been a frost - hooray!!!
Nice one.....I talk to everybody ....My wife won't talk without being spoken to first.Even if is some of her own family that she has seen in town. The wife says they are being stuck-up and I always ask did you say Hi.
Oh brave you!!! ha ha we always think of the remark we should have said about 10 minutes later..stupid woman...anyway your sheep look lovely, never knew that about eye contact, will try that this week....maybe!
Lovely sheep shots! They're interesting animals I think. I hate it when strange dogs jump up and me - and even worse when their owners smirk and say something along the lines of " oh he's ever so friendly" - well no actually I don't think so. I had one lick my lens the other week and I was furious.
Gorgeous shot Jan... and think we must be on the same wave length as I decided to take some sheepy shots today... they were much nearer the fences which I walk by so just could not resist....
As for the very unpleasant lady... well how very rude of her... people never cease to amaze me..... and like you I always think of what I should have said well after the event.... ah well never mind... its her loss... she could have had a very nice verbal interaction with you but she lost out on that pleasure... silly lady!!
Got to fav your gorgeous sheep.... as they do look very appealing...and love the patches of black on their wee faces....
So gorgeous sheep, wonderful Lighthroom and hoses that function.... not a bad day at all!!! ♥♥♥
There's nowt so queer as folk Jan how could you do that, us northeners talk to anyone so i think it very odd behaviour!!!!!
The light here just bounces off those sheep...i always like a good sheep picture!! Fave!!
Hilarious story and love the shot. Aren't you going to tag it "sheep with attitude" . Are they Northern English Mules like the heavy gang? I;m practicing my sheep idenitification skills....
@fueast I will tag it. Funny you should ask but I haven't got any idea what kind they are. In fact I was thinking about it on the way home and it really irritates me. I am thinking that I must get some kind of identification guide,(don't suppose there is an iPhone app!) but I guess that a lot of them will be cross-breeds.
Good for you on the hard stare. I know me and wouldn't have been able to stop myself from sassing her:) I have no self control at all, lol.
I love these fluffy fellows!
@fueast@meisen325 I can't believe I am going ot buy a sheep identification book, but it looks like I am. If you had told me that would have happened a few years ago I wouldn't have believed you! Alison, I have tagged a few more attitudey sheep shots, hope they fit the bill properly.

As told to me by Monica. I think they do look like north of England mules.
I love these fluffy fellows!
