These poor lupins are all in old raised vegetable bed in a corner of the garden. I grew them from seed and after planting out all of the ones I needed just shoved them in the spare bit of ground, not quite doing them justice in the process. Anyway, in spite of being under-appreciated they are valiantly flowering away, almost un-noticed.
Angus has gone off to Alton Towers with a big group of friends today. He is going straight from one of their houses to the after-prom party, which is actually taking place a week before the prom. I must say, of all of this recent galavantings this is the one that fills me with the most dread. The details are 'sketchy' to say the least. The party is 'somewhere' in Leamington and afterwards, despite the fact I have offered to pick him up he is staying at his friend's house 'somewhere' on the outskirts of Leamington. There are loads of people invited, I don't know what kind of adult supervision there will be (if any!) and I don't know the people he is meant to be staying with. He is supposed to be providing me with more details during the day today.....To say that I am feeling a bit twitchy about the whole thing is an understatement. The control-freak within me is feeling a bit helpless.
I must remind myself of what I was up to at his age - maybe that is why I am so worried......
Beautiful blooms I need to reseed !! lost all of mine but like Pat mine tend to get ginormous green flies !!
Try not to worry re son !! --I know it's easier said than done !!
I had to laugh at your last comment remembering what you got up to! I'm glad my children are parents themselves and now appreciate why I worried about them! They've got the worrying now!! Lovely capture of the lupins. I have flowers right near my vegetables as it used to be a flower garden so know what you mean
Oh don't, we are in the same position tonight - the only plus side is that he's working tomorrow and it's still a novelty enough to not want to miss it due to hang over. But I do wonder what I'd say if the police ever came round and asked his whereabouts - be awful to say 'no idea'. And even if they tell you where they're staying it's not like we ring up and check. Mind you it reminds me of the panic my sister got in when there was a fireball one night in Leeds. She was desperate to find her room mate because if she'd been killed by the fireball she'd have to explain to her mum why she wasn't sleeping in her own bed!!
finally got details for tomorrow, so at least he in in a state to test at 10pm, A's friend has got work tomorrow at 10am so hopefully they will have to be reasonably OK for then. Anyway, off to bed now (mobile and house phone under pillow of course)
My lupins get greenfly!
