I went up to Burton Dassett to see what was going on. I only lasted about 5 minutes out of my car because it was so cold and windy up there - a bit disappointing after the lovely weather at the weekend. Most of the sheep were lying down, possibly to discourage their lambs, who are now nearly as big as them from trying to feed from them. They must be getting a bit tired of it by now.
Joey Boy seems a lot brighter today and I think the swelling from his fly bites has gone down. I don't think that he will be complaining about the weather being a bit cooler.
Anyway, it is just after 11am, I had better go and wake Angus up, he is supposed to be helping someone to move house today. Their current house is on the side of a hill and the only access is up about 40 steps. Rather him than me!
I like the idea of them going on strike by lying on their nipples. It I seem to remember our mummy cat taking ages to wean her kittens (well the one we kept). The vet who spayed her tutted and said, 'That's way too long' and I felt like a bad parent. Eventually when Rafiki was about 5 months old Nala decided to smack her on every approach and it did the trick.
Beautiful shot and love your pov.... I have noticed the ewes here walking rapidly away so as not to allow the junior lambs to latch on to them..... think they are most definitely fed up with been a milk bar...... Love this shot and a fav for me ♥
