A bit of brightness this morning so I went for a bit of a drive on the hunt for some sheep to photograph, for no other reason than I haven't photographed sheep for a while.
Typical, Graham is feeding the pigs today and tomorrow because it's the weekend, and although it is blowing a gale and very cold, there isn't a drop of rain in sight! Hmph!
Lucy @Lycypics mentioned in a comment to me yesterday that her car seat was wet when she picked up her daughter from school. At the moment, because of the time it gets dark I usually feed the pigs on the way to picking the boys up from their bus stops which are in a larger village about six miles away. This means that at this time of year I turn up to get them wearing mud covered, soaking wet waterproof clothes, disgustingly muddy waterproof walking shoes and mud splattered gaiters. A rather attractive ensemble, if I say so myself!
Yesterday, because I needed to buy a couple of things from the shop in the village I fed the pigs (in the pouring rain, just to make a change) and came home again and got changed into something slightly less disgusting so I could get out of the car without feeling too ashamed.
Like Lucy, by the time I got to the shop I was feeling decidedly cold and damp, and realised that my car seat was soaking wet from my disgusting waterproof clothes that I had been wearing just a bit earlier..... doh!
Curry night at the pub last night, a good turn out and delicious food.
Off to a friend's party this afternoon, and then up to Doncaster for my Mother in Law's 80th birthday luch tomorrow. It's all go!
Oh no!! Doesn't that just make you want to swear!! Much brighter today but excelled myself by falling waist high in a puddle like dawn Fench in Vicar of Dibly!! Lovely sheep shot, doesn't a bit of sun make such a difference? Love their little inquisitive faces.
One thing about living in the country you can wear what the heck you like......nothing worse than having to come in, get changed & go out again. I have a drawer full of older clothes that I used to relegate for everyday farming life...I still can't get used to wearing my smarter stuff on a normal week day! I must clear them out as I will never wear them again.
Party party party!! Whenever I see a little gathering of sheep like this I think of the 'Baa, ram, ewe,' scene from Babe. I notice courtesy of Google that there is a wool shop in Yorkshire called BaaRamEwe and that Harrogate council is organising 'knitted jumper bunting' in Tour de France colours to welcome the racers - @fueast needs to get her needles out!
@judithg I haven't got any and I won't be watching from Harrogate! I guess Isla might find some knitted cyclists to go with the olympians. Btw are these not sheep with attitude?
@judithg no. But don't pick on me. In the last 24 hours I've received 16 sets of referees comments on various papers. I did once knit a jumper. Lets just say that the neck wasn't neck shaped.
