I was going to go out with my camera to try to capture the sunset after I got in from art class this evening, but Graham and the boys were out playing cricket and the dog was so wildly pleased to see me that I didn't have the heart to turn round and go out again.
So here is a picture that I took a couple of weeks ago when our art group went out on one of our member's boats. Tonight I have been using one of the images I took to create a plate to do a 'collagraph' print. It is quite a long process where you stick different textured items onto card with PVA glue, then cover the whole thing in PVA and shellac before inking it up to use as a plate to print from. It can give some really interesting results, but you (well, I) never know quite what you aare going to end up with.
Very nice boats with their reflections. I am sure this is the perfect shot to use for your collagraph print.
Sounds waaay too complicated for me - but I am sure it will be wonderful under your skillful hands!
That art process sounds interesting......we had so few art methods in my day....oil paints, water colours , scraper board, pencil or pastels...that was about your limit. I did like art very much so it must be a very exciting hobby now a days....don't want to start again though! Love your barges....beautiful light & reflections.
