These are the latest additions to our menagerie - Five Oxford Downs sheep. We have had them since July and they were born in April. Like our Oxford Sandy and Black pigs (thanks for the lovely response to yesterday's photo by they way!) they are a local rare breed. I think they look a bit like teddy bears.
They have plenty of grass in their large field, but we give them a handful of hard feed each day just to keep them tame. Before we got them I hadn't realised that it was possible to get sheep particularly tame but this lot are tame enough to be a real nuisance. It is hard to walk along with them surrounding you. They get into the feed store and I have a real job to get all five of them out again at the same time. In fact, because the pigs' enclosures are in the same field, I try to stealthily sneak in and feed the pigs before they notice me.
As you can see from the size of the one on the left, he is usually first in the queue for food.
Oh, yeah, the one on the left is a rolly-polly, and I love the focus on the one on the right! They all appear extremely eager to approach you! Thank you for sharing these adorable creatures....they are irresistible! FAV!
