Calabasas Fire by jaybutterfield

Calabasas Fire

At 4:00 PM today, a fire broke out in Calabasas Highlands just over the ridge from us . . . it quickly spread to over 200 acres and as of now is still not contained. Hundreds of dedicated firefighters including helicopter and waterplanes have been fighting this into the night saving many homes and yet the flames still rage on in the open acreage.

Unfortunately, a common occurence each spring and summer as a result of seven years of drought in Southern California . Fingers crossed
that orange sky really pops, albeit for an unfortunate reason.

Hope and prayers that you and yours are not affected by this wildfire. In spite, this is a great capture. Wish that you did not have the opportunity to do so.

@blueberry1222 @joysabin @marylandgirl58 @lizhammond @mrskmacd @hermann @cocobella @carolmw @linnypinny Thank you all for you good wishes. Fire substantially out, much acreage burned but miraculously no homes lost and only one firefighter slightly injured. Very thankful.

Incredible capture......... Oh is his a familiar sight in southern California, unfortunately. We were evacuated for 3+ days during the 2007 San Diego County wildfires and didn't know for 24 hours if we had a home to return to. So scary........
