I had several interesting shots today and still am not sure which one I should post. This one is very different than most of my photographs--totally abstract and hard to even tell what it is. I didn't crop at all. This reflection on the side of an SUV caught my eye as I was waiting for a friend outside the Mad Fox Brewery in Falls Church. I'm not even sure what was reflecting on the side of the car, but I like the pattern.
That we have seen nothing so abstract and artifact from you by day 84 does not necessarily make it different. You like life and light and context and story, and something in this abstraction spoke to your eye and my understanding. This could be a picture of your wait, of the time you were between actions - structure and stasis and the slow flow of time. (As an abstraction, it could be anything, but that's a handy idea.) Those wavy edges render the reflections surreal, don't they? Hard manufactured edges are reflected and refracted like fjords, like holographic edges in this region where object and non-object (chaos or other) are less clearly defined. Sorta like life. Now that's a good way to tell abstract art from abstract cleverness.
In many words, what Katie said simply. Harmonious colors were appealing, too.
I adored Fetch! and Face-off, nice contrast of canine action and stillness in that pair of dog park photos. Dramatic Sky is incredibly perfect.
