Leaving the National Book Festival by jbritt

Leaving the National Book Festival

I went on a photo shoot after the National Book Festival ended. This is my favorite ph9oto and one of the last ones I took.

My assignment for Zen Through the Lens was to take 30 photos in 30 minutes. I tried to do this a couple times and failed. I need to work on taking fewer photos, but it seems like the way I figure out what I want to shoot is to take photos. Often I become interested in something and keep finding better shots. And then there are candids where you have to act quickly. If you study the situation before you shoot, then the moment is gone before you put your camera to your eye. So I tried and failed again tonight. I'm not sure hoe many shots I took but it was more than 30 and I stayed longer than 30 minutes. I did get some interesting shots and I'll just have to cheat with this assignment. I may try to do it several more times until I can get it right.

When I was in school, I got straight As, not because I was particularly smart but because I worked harder than most other students. I still feel like I have to work harder to succeed. I think that is part of the reason I take so many photos. i feel like I need to make up for my lack of skills. The few times I have held back and taken fewer photos, I have not been as satisfied with the results as when I have a lot to choose from.

Your hard work paid off. I would think it would be very difficult to capture a reflection of the monument in puddles! FAV for me because it fantastic. Can you email me info about the Zen class?

I love the Washington monument and it reflection in the puddles. I can see how the contemplative photography is really helping you to see differently.
