Red flowers

I don't know what these are - but they belong to the neighbours - and hang over into my front yard.

I think they are one of the flowering ginger family of plants...so many different colourful varieties. It looks to me like the flowering part is like a sunflower in that it has the fibonacci system

@hrs Thanks Helen. Just tracked it down - it is a Costus comosus aka a Red Tower Ginger. We had some ginger type of plant in Rockhampton, but the flowers were totally different.
