I've been experimenting with shooting flowers by holding my 120mm zoom almost against some foliage while focusing on a flower in the background. It gives a nice effect as both foreground and background become blurred with a F4 setting with the foreground creating a veil of colour. I do need to try it with something different than leaves in the foreground though for the effect to be more obvious.
