How cute is a box Brownie. Spotted at The Orangery restaurant, Maleny.
Actually, it is a Brownie Junior. In the 1880s George Eastman couldn‟t find a big enough market for his new flexible film in commercial photography, so he looked elsewhere. When the Kodak camera hit the market in the 1880s he did two things: domesticised and industrialised. The photographer no longer needed to develop glass plates and print, as the box camera with flexible film was mailed to Kodak for processing, printing, and a new 100 shot film reloaded and all returned to the customer. This put photography within reach of the home photographer and into the realms of mass marketing
