A nightly snowstorm created these bizarre shapes.

Photo taken on Plöckenstein, a hill in the north of Upper Austria, on the border with the Czech Republic. I walked there several times - at all seasons. In the summer you will find there delicious blueberries.
Incredible, how bizarre indeed.

This looks like a scene from the Arctic Circle! The evergreens look like they've been stripped f their limbs! Very interesting scenery!

@joannakate These trees no longer live - the bark beetle has killed them. But for me they are still full of power and beauty.
