Welcome to the world

As expected "Camo Cat" https://media.365project.org/1/7180652_fgjoqv1459_l.jpg was the larva of an Angle Shades moth.
As expected (of course!) the imago or adult, emerged over night.
He's now safely hidden in the garden.

Wow, great shot and very interesting creature.

Wow, what a lovely moth. He would be hard to spot in the garden.

@888rachel He's lovely isn't he? What's really odd is that I can miss a person and yet see a tiny green Shield Bug 20 feet away on a leaf of exactly the same colour - Angles Shades is a doddle!
Thanks, Rachel

@stownsend @joev Thank you, Suzie, Joe. I find the life cycle endlessly fascinating. In October my local library will be having a nature themed event for children and I'll be taking the camo net he built and his empty pupal case as part of my exhibit.

Truly amazing! Love that you have captured this beauty on the tip of your finger. :-)

@gaylewood He was newly eclosed, a bit cold so not very active, but moths are usually happy to "hold hands" unlike butterflies. I have no doubt over the coming months there will be many more moth pictures.
Thank you very much

Lovely capture even if it did make my flesh crawl 😞 I'm petrified of moths 😁

@bigmxx Thanks, Michelle. So sad you are afraid of moths, think of them as night shift butterflies! I expect/hope to have many similar images with different species as trapping proceeds through the season.
