York has many ghosts, perhaps the most famous being the Roman Legionaires seen in the Treasurer's House in 1953, by apprentice plumber Harry Martindale.
His account was dismissed as the details he described did not fit with accepted knowledge, but it's now known that he was correct.
He heard a "tinny sound" a Roman soldier wearing a kilt & carrying a trumpet walked out of the wall. This was followed by a horse and rider and about 20 more soldiers all of whom walked into the opposite wall.
They were visible only from the knees up - their feet were at the level of the original Roman road!
The Fulford ghostie of course, has little history, just a ghost on a bike crossing the River Ouse.
