Holly Blue larvae by jesika2

Holly Blue larvae

Getting bigger. First one is now about 3mm and visible even without specs. MUCH better and clearer with, of course. Second is slightly smaller.
Rapidly approaching 3 weeks old and there is a discernable difference in colour. Soon it will be 6mm long, the hairs will be shorter, it will be pale green and have a pale yellow line along its sides.

All of my years living in the desert made me totally forget about caterpillars and today I saw a small one and got so excited. I wished it well and sent it on its way.

@koalagardens @stownsend @365projectorgchristine @fishers @bkbinthecity thank you all. The tiny caterpillars are now a bit bigger, visible to the eye - with specs in my case - and a very beautiful and delicate pale green. With a bit of luck they will pupate in 2 weeks and by month’s end there will be Holly Blue butterflies. I also have 6 Brimstone and 4 Vapourer moth larvae in the nursery.
