In August 2019 I found a tiny brown butterfly on one of my usual walkies. Couldn't really believe what I was seeing, so needed confirmation that it really WAS a Brown Argus. I saw 8 that summer and a man told me he'd counted 12.
Each spring I approach the area where Dove'sfoot cranesbill grows, fingers crossed, hoping, hoping...
Each year they've appeared, fewer that the first year but it seems to be a fairly well established if tiny population.
The wet winter seems to have suited the baby food, there's loads of it, more than usual so I'm hopeful that the population might grow a little.
