Egg to caterpillar

A Brimstone butterfly egg, newly laid, and then empty. The very recently emerged first instar (from the Latin "Instar" meaning stage) larva and then a 15 image stack as it settled into its usual position. It's currently under the leaf, when it gets bigger it will spend most of its not eating time along the centre of the leaf carefully camouflaged.
