One of two tiny Chimneysweeper moths seen on Walmgate Stray, York today. Very tiny, about 1 inch wing span and delightfully beautiful insects. Last year I was thrilled to count 166 on a single expedition, usually happy with about 2 dozen.

@milaniet not yet, this is the start of their season up here, but thanks for your concern. Later in the month I expect higher numbers. Last year was exceptional as many recorders reported throughout the country.
