Moose by jetr

Moose

Plodding along right outside the back door of the school! All the kids rushed to the door as if they'd never seen a moose before! It doesn't happen every day, but it's not THAT uncommon! Thought I'd share!
Amazing, can't image that.

Just love this. Many years ago I watched the entire 6 or 7 series of Northern Exposure (still have all the DVDs in storage somewhere) and since then I've been fascinated by Alaska. This reminds me so much of that wonderful TV programme.

I love the shot of the moose surrounded by snow. Do you know what makes our students rush outside or to the window? Rain or snow!

ha! that IS kind of a treat to see one of those magnificent animals, even if it is not that uncommon of an event :)

Beautiful. Definitely NOT something we'd see on the lower west coast of the lower 48. And you DO have moose in Alaska.... It wasn't until our third (of four) visits there that we finally saw one. All kinds of moose signs, no moose.

I'm so glad you had your camera with you. What an amazing image. I've seen a few moose in Newfoundland, but I did not get any good images of them. :)
