This is a the view from my 3rd floor hotel room in Anchorage. They rise immediately behind the city's outskirts and dominate the skyline from every vantage point. Not the most attractive shot, but I wanted to point out that this view is what surrounds all parts of the city. Breathtaking!

A month ago they had about 12 inches, but it's all gone now and it's been close to 50 degrees this week. Back home in the village it's still around zero and buried under 5 feet of snow! Go figure.
