Okay bad attempt at the artist challenge this David Hilliard - http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/22942/new-artist-challenge-david-hilliard. I took three pictures of the bridge and I like the triptychs. But Hillards pictures tell a story and I'm not sure this one does. Oh well, small steps.
This is a quote from his site and it is how I see his pictures and why I think I failed here.
For me, the construction of panoramic photographs, comprised of various single images, acts as a visual language. Focal planes shift, panel by panel. This sequencing of photographs and shifting of focal planes allows me the luxury of guiding the viewer across the photograph, directing their eye; an effect which could not be achieved through a single image.
Another person picture reminded me that I could use this for my get-pushed this week. After all bubbling up clouds are part of summer weather in Maine.
I actually love how you composed. Not familiar with the challenge. The story it tells me is that it is a very long bridge over a lovely body of water. Nicely done.
I like this -- I think any image has the potential to tell a narrative. Why is the bridge there? What is it connecting? Who lives on the other side? Plus, it's structurally fantastic!!
Just looked at his website, I really liked your bridge, I think these photographers make it look too easy. His are fascinating, I'm learning so much about artists I would never have come across normally.
@debbie3108 Me too. He does make it look easy but the more you look at his the more intricate you realize it is. My mentor gets after me to plan and he has really planned his out.
