LOBSTER - well for many people. Oh, were you expecting another mall shot. Hey, I live in Maine and it's still summer. So we went to the Mall via the beach. Lunch was clam chowder(New England style of course), crab cake with aioli, e stopped at the farm stand coming home. I have flowers, animals, hay bays, mall pics, chickens and bees. But this is the one I choose, than my mentor hinted I over processed my candy pic (a bad habit I've picked up.) So I got nervous about this one, so go BW. Loved it and hope you do or at least like it.
My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon in Maine. We had a motel right on the coast and we would watch the lobster boats go out and come back. A few of them dropped some traps right out from the rocky shore near the motel.
@taffy I liked it in color, but something was just not making it pop the way I saw it. The buoys were old and faded and if I tried to up the color the sky took over the picture. Then I decided to try bw and boom the picture I saw. Didn't know why though. So I love when someone like you gives a good description of what you like. Then I can apply this to another picture. I am so stuck often with love it, beautiful because I don't always know why. So you are my "mentor" in understand why pictures appeal to me. I read your posts when I am posting on someone else's picture. I think if I can understand why I can understand better how.
B&W was a great choice for this shot. It really shows off the textures, not only in the buoys but the shack and boardwalk as well. The lighting is also lovely here.
You're making some good decisions, Joan, and this image works because you thought it through - the B&W is right here, for all the reasons you mentioned.
@vignouse Thank you, hope you agree with my most recent post and if not will allow me some room for the occasion bad judgment. Can you tell I'm nervous.
The clam chowder sounds delicious.
