After

After the berries are picked this is what a blueberry plain looks like. You could probably read up on why they do this. But I have already fallen asleep once working on this photo. So I'll just leave it for you to wonder why I choose it. (Because I'm a little quirky) Thanks for all you comments on my pictures and let me say I am still trying to clean house (it got really bad while I played at photography) so going to bed and will comment in the morning and more cleaning then too.
I like the layers in this Joan and the sky is beautiful - my guess as to why it is like this is to prepare the soil again for blueberries or for something else

Autumn cleanup prevents sprint diseases?

Spring, not sprint. Autocorrect is getting on my nerves!

Really interesting -- great colors -- but it has the feel of what's left after a forest fire.

Interesting! I love the fall colors in the background. Tells a great story with the field tilled up. Cool sky. Way to go!

Loving this sky!

@kt8ird You know I did auto level in LR and it tilted it. I was curious why. Too tired to fight it. This picture is how I felt yesterday after the heat over the weekend. Burnt out.

Great photo. While the autumn trees in the background are lovely, the whole shot has an almost end-of-the-world feel to it, for me at least. The somewhat bleak sky, the crops now gone and dried - it just looks so desolate. But...There, in the far distance, there might be a shimmer of light, sunshine, hope.
So, I'm not the only one who has let housecleaning slide in favour of photos, eh? So good to know that!

Interesting shot and info

Your processing really helps the desolate, "scorched earth," feel of this shot. The title says it perfectly. Very cool.

I like these orange and green tones :)

Part of crop management I suppose. But I would really like is to be able to purchase some wild Maine blueberries here in Florida.

Hmmmm so interesting. I'll have to read up on it. They just pick them here.

I'm curious so will have to Google why this is done. As an aside I had the most delicious pancakes this morning chock full of Maine blueberries. Yum.
